Hi Friends,
I am on a journey of beginning to homestead so another thing I added to doing in my homesteading journey is making my own homemade cleaner for our home.
When I tell you this was something fun and exciting to do I can’t even explain the joy of knowing I made something safe to use around my family that I created.
I got the recipes from my mom, she’s from the old fashion time of utilizing what you have versus relying on the stores all the time and for that I’m super grateful to learn the olden times of doing things and then making them apart of my life.
I love that the ways of old won’t stop with me because I am doing them and will be teaching my girls all of these skills as well talk about awesome generational lessons.
I created cleaners for the kitchen, bathrooms, wood floors and painted walls. I will put the ingredients you can use to make all of them at the end of the blog.
Benefits Of Making Your Own Cleaner:
- Limits your family exposure to harsh chemicals which can cause respiratory problems, allergies and skin irritation.
- Will give you better indoor air quality and can prevent you from having headaches, fatigue and dizziness because you won’t be breathing in harmful chemicals .
- Saves money because the items in which you purchase to make the cleaners will last you a while versus having to keep buying store brought cleaner that can add up in cost.
- You will know what ingredients you put in the cleaner and it’s benefits versus using store brought cleaner that may have harmful chemicals in it that we know nothing about.
What You Need To Purchase To Make Each Cleaner:
- Kitchen Cleaner: Full bottle of water, 4 tablespoons of dawn dish soap, few drops of peppermint oil or essential oil of your choice.
- Bathroom Cleaner: Full bottle of water, white distilled vinegar, few drops of pine oil or essential oil of your choice I found that 10 drops have been efficient.
- Wood Floors: Water, pine oil, white distilled vinegar
- Painted Wall Cleaner: Full bottle of water and 2 tablespoons dawn soap
- Make sure too clean with microfiber towels when using these cleaners and always dry everything with a second microfiber when done cleaning.
Blessings,
Dee
